
John Stroud is a Public School Teacher and Independent Researcher engaged in learning-lab style experiments in Contemporary Media Education. He holds a Ph.D. in Art from the Hochschule fur Bildenden Kunst, Hamburg where his research involved the explication of nascent theories of participation and intervention found in early Bay Area Conceptual Art and their filial relation to the Deleuzo-Guattarian concept of the Refrain. His earlier degrees include a Masters in Teaching (with a Constructivist bent) from Southern Oregon University and BFA from the New Genres department of the San Francisco Art Institute.
